In the broadest sense, this album represents an offering unto the Lord of my first fruits of music. Though it is not for men or their approval, it is released to men so that they may be edified and encouraged – as the manifestation of God’s Spirit is for the profit of all. While I hope listeners are thusly moved, it is ultimately inconsequential to the purpose of this work – to glorify God, for His own sake. It is a musical articulation of the reality that all the earth is His, and all that are in it. This is His.
Specifically, the subject matter is inspired by scriptural passages anticipating the Lord’s return in power. There seems to be so little worship that focuses on God as a righteous judge – yet so much in scripture speaks excitedly about how God will reclaim his fallen creation in this manner. Much of this work echoes that joy – exalting in the victory of God and his perfection in righteousness. God is all knowing – the only being qualified and worthy of passing such a weighty judgment which bears consequences enduring into infinity.
Thanks to my family and my friends.
